Fans lose pin-up boy to Suzanne

BANGALORE, DECEMBER 20: Eventually reel life did spill over into the event as Hrithik Roshan led a mock baraat to Suzanne Khan's doorstep at the Golden Palms Resort and Spa on Wednesday. Though the two had agreed to a simple registered marriage, albeit preceded by all the attendant rituals that accompany traditional Hindu and Muslim wedding ceremonies, the ghoda and the baraat were elements that Hrithik couldn't resist.
Apparently, Sanjay Khan played along. To indulge his prospective son-in-law, he arranged a horse. The superstar, followed by his baraat, then rode around the resort for a while.
The wedding ceremony started almost an hour behind schedule. But...
Love him at your own risk...

Reena, Tina, Meena, Bina and all those trying to woo Hrithik, better give up, since it is going to be a futile exercise. Your heartthrob Hrithik , is already somebody else's heartthrob.
Hrithik has made it clear that he is not single. He is not looking out for a life partner because he has chosen one already - Susanne Khan, daughter of Sanjay Khan, the cowboy of yesteryears.
And this is serious. He doesn't mind losing his fan following and risking his popularity. Come what may, he is going to marry Susanne, he has declared boldly. He has pledged himself to Susanne, and will not betray his lady love under any circumstances.
He believes that he has all the right to enjoy his life and live it the way he wants, and with the people he loves...
Suzanne Khan Roshan?

She's the star of the millennium - a star bigger than all the Bollywood heroines put together. She's Suzanne Khan, now Roshan- wife to the supercraze of the 21st century Hrithik Roshan. And yet, to relegate her to a mere ' wife' status is to limit this lovely young bride who has sustained and deepened her relationship with the current heartthrob over a period of five years.
Family roots -- Suzanne is the third daughter of Zarine and Sanjay Khan. All three daughters of the Khans are career women and Suzanne is a graduate with an Associate degree in interiors and decoration from the USA. She has been helping her mother Zarine Khan's lucrative interiors business, though she says casually "I'm the errand boy for mum's business and dad's production house and Hrithik's engagements because he's so busy."
No star tantrums -- In Bollywood where star wives not belonging to the film industry are aggressively assertive about their individuality...
Can I marry please?

The hearts of many female hearts are likely to be broken some time between December 22 and January 15 because that's when the nation's current heart-throb Hrithik Roshan is planning to tie the knot.
Though the Indian Penal Code says that people cannot stop a marriage from happening, producers of Hrithik's films are creating obstacles. They have managed to procure his dates with great difficulty and do not want to let go of him.
So papa Rakesh Roshan and Hrithik have been forced to ask them for permission to get married. "Hrithik wants at least seven days for the marriage. But the producers are willing to let him off for only two days," says Roshan Sr...
Wedding Tidbits

BANGALORE, Dec 5, 2000. Heart-throb Hrithik Roshan will tie the knot with long-time girlfriend, Suzanne Khan this fortnight.
The wedding date has not been disclosed yet, but sources close to the Roshans say the duo will get hitched mid-December, possibly around the 20th.
When rediff entertainment correspondents called Rakesh Roshan's office to confirm the news, "Yes, he is getting married," is all an employee revealed.
Roshan Sr refused to come online and switched off his mobile phone.
Hrithik, meanwhile, is shooting in Bangalore.
The venue for the wedding, interestingly enough, is not Bombay, but Bangalore. Reports say a party will be held at Suzanne's uncle Feroze Khan's farmhouse before the wedding. The wedding will take place at father Sanjay Khan's brand new resort, yet to be open to the public.

For the locals around Nelamangala, just off Tumkur road in Bangalore, Hrithik Roshan's wedding is just another spectacle after Dr Rajakumar's abduction and subsequent release.
A casual eye could miss the unassuming Golden Palms Resort sign. Leading to Sanjay Khan's newly-built Golden Palms Resort is a tarred two-way road. The seven-star, 350-room capacity resort is set on a sprawling 20-acre estate. Freshly painted in white with brown awnings around it, all that is on view to the onlooker is the huge, rather gaudy, fountain in the driveway...
Why so quiet?

While Hrithik Roshan wed Suzanne Khan amidst revelry in Bangalore on Wednesday, Sitaram Mandal, the watchman who guards his home at Kavita building in Juhu, wore a despondent look on his face. Mandal wanted to be one of the 150 invitees to the Bangalore ceremonies. He said that if invited to the later reception in Mumbai, he would certainly give "Hrithik baba" a gold ring.
"I am very poor but in our community one gives gold to the people one is close to, and I am most probably going to do that," he said, leaning over the tall white gate of the building.
Aside from guarding the building, Mandal's job has now extended to also warding off hundreds of the actor's fans who come to meet their hero. His first bit of business on the wedding day was to drive off a bunch of crazy girls who came to have a look at their idol...
Hrithik ceases to be a bachelor boy?

Amidst all the rumors about his marriage Hrithik Roshan finally ties the knot with fiancée Suzanne Khan on the 18th of December.
Few newcomers in tinseltown have kicked up so much stardust with just one release. After Kaho Na Pyar Hai, Hrithik became the buzzword. All hailed the new superstar. Talks about his marriage floated here, there and everywhere. Now it’s finally the real thing.
The venue is not in Australia or any other phoren country as the rumor mills churned out for sometime now. It’s not amchi Mumbai too. It’s in the bride’s father Sanjay Khan's seven-star, 350-room capacity Golden Palms Resort just off Tamkur Road in Bangalore.
Hrithik-Suzanne: Wedding At Bangalore

By: Jitendra Kothari
'Far From The Madding Crowd' seems to have become an intense personal desire for the 26-year-old Kaho Na Pyar Hai star. Hearthrob Hrithik Roshan (this appellate is so firmly attached to his name that one is increasingly inclined to believe that Hearthrob is his first name) is all set to marry longtime girlfriend Suzanne Khan on December 20 - and the venue chosen for the wedding is not in Mumbai, the heart, hub and nucleus of the film industry, but a health resort on the outskirts of Bangalore.
This marks the climax of a two-month-long guessing game which had everybody asking Kaho Na Kab Hai. Possible places (Australia included) and dates were bandied about. But now it's final. The wedding of Suzanne, the third daughter of actor-filmmaker Sanjay Khan, with Hrithik will take place on December 20 at Sanjay's multi-crore Golden Palm's Resort and Spa in Bangalore.
Believe in love, and like Hrithik, stick with it

BANGALORE: Hrithik Roshan discovered love at a traffic signal much like the character he played in Kaho Na... Pyar Hai. At least that is what he stated in one of his earliest interviews. But why he needed a traffic-junction to play cupid when he has known wife-to-be Suzanne since his childhood, remains a mystery. Or maybe, the reclusive star wants the actual turning point in his equation with the only girl-friend he has ever had, to remain a mystery for the rest of the world.
No one except the protagonists of the most talked about love story in recent times, know of the precise moment when a childhood friendship matured into a life-long commitment. But sources reveal that it all began when Hrithik was not yet the painfully scrutinised star that he is and was assisting his father behind the scenes apart from working on his body, diction and acting skills.

BANGALORE: Boy meets girls. Boy becomes big fella. Boy still meets girl. Boy browbeaten by Bollywood's box office rules which strangely deify bachelorhood. Boy refuses to relent and follows his heart's bidding. Boy slated to finally meet girl and settle down, happily ever after. Some love stories come true in real life too. And when it's that of the nation's Hrising star, the nation can only stand up and Hrock & Hroll with glee...
Defying all box office diktats, Hrithik Roshan ends months of speculation on Wednesday when he marries childhood sweetheart Suzanne, daughter of actor-director Sanjay Khan and Zarine. The wedding will be held at Sanjay Khan's Golden Palms resort and Spa just outside Bangalore.
Garden City abloom for marriage of the year

Rumors never ceased to leave him since he made his ‘big bang’ entry in moviedom. Yesterday, 18th December, there was a lot of hoopla that the heartthrob of millions, Hrithik Roshan, tied the knot. But it wasn’t so.
Now it has been officially confirmed, no rumor this time, that the Bollywood's numero uno star will marry his childhood sweetheart Suzanne Khan, daughter of Sanjay Khan, on December 20 in Bangalore.
Hrithik would get married at a function to be attended by select people at the state-of-the-art Spa owned by a well-known Bollywood actor on the outskirts of Bangalore.

Mumbai, Dec 19: Hrithik Roshan is marrying Suzanne Khan at soon-to-be father-in-law Sanjay Khan's Golden Palms Resort and Spa, less than 30 km from the airport off National Highway 4. The wedding might as well be on the moon.
Security is so tight that practically no one appears to have been invited, least of all the Press and Bangalore's two and a half celebrities.
``We're not going to take that lying down,'' says a dotcom journalist. ``We're organising a procession and we intend to stand at the Resort gates and shout our displeasure.''

The star appeared before the media at the venue of his wedding – the Golden Palms Resort and Spa, owned by Suzanne’s father Sanjay Khan, a little after noon Wednesday and sought the blessings and good wishes of his fans.
Though he appeared relaxed, in a mustard coloured coat, black jeans and t-shirt, Hrithik said he was nervous and excited about the wedding.
'There will be no heartbreaks'

The most eagerly awaited marriage of the year - Hrithik Roshan
with Suzanne Khan - was completed today in a quiet ceremony in Bangalore. The marriage, however, is sure to diminish Hrithik's phenomenal female fan following, says A Special Correspondent
New Delhi, December 20
"My fans are not disappointed", Hrithik said, and went on to add, "They are all happy for me." Hrithik Roshan, the latest Bollywood heartthrob, couldn't have been further from the truth, if reactions from across the country are
to be believed. Or maybe it was just an attempt on the part of the Kaho Na Pyaar Hai star to put up a hopeful front, seeing that his marriage to long-time sweetheart Suzanne Khan might mean losing out on a lion's share of his phenomenal following.

Bollywood Heartthrob Hrithik Roshan weds long-time girlfriend Suzanne Khan in Bangalore on Wednesday. And apart from his thousands of distraught and heart-broken female fans, most of the film industry may have reason to feel left out.
Almost no one from Bollywood has been invited for the very, very private wedding, which will take place at the bride's father, Sanjay Khan's Golden Palms Resorts and Spa, about 30 km from Bangalore.
The lucky few Mumbai invitees include Hrithik's dad Rakesh Roshan's intimate social circle - actors Jeetendra, Prem Chopra, Rishi Kapoor and producer Sujit Kumar. The five men and their wives are well known in Bollywood as an extremely close group of friends.

All set for Hrithik's marriage

All is set for the high-profile marriage of Bollywood sensation Hrithik Roshan with his childhood sweetheart Suzanne Khan, daughter of actor-producer Sanjay Khan, at a heavily guarded resort on the city's outskirts today.
As private commandos and two platoons of the Karnataka State Reserve Police (KSRP) kept a hawk-eyed vigil to keep intruders at bay, preparations for one of the most-talked about marriages were in top gear at the resort owned by Sanjay Khan, about 30 kms from here.
According to sources, the Mehndi program for the bride was performed. But there was no confirmation about the marriage rituals to be performed today, when the bigwigs of Hindi filmdom are expected.

They could have danced all night.
Hrithik Roshan and Suzanne Khan exchanged rings on Tuesday night at the latter's father, Sanjay Khan's Golden Palms Resort
Dressed in a grey suit, a light blue coloured shirt and a grey tie, Hrithik was a perfect foil to Suzanne Khan's delicate beauty, in a skin coloured ghagra-choli, speckled with diamonds.
The best dancer of the lot, meanwhile, stayed perched atop his horse, taking it all in.
Music was the mainstay of the evening. Hrithik pulled his bride to the centre of the hall, to dance to Ek pal ka jeena and the title track of Kaho Naa… Pyaar Hai. There was something magical between the two -- so completely involved in each other, yet so spiritedly dancing to the songs that bought Hrithik so much fame - that there was not a dry eye left in the room after the song.

Her brush with celebs began about two decades ago when Poonam Dhillon appreciated her work. Coming from a middle class background, Veena took to applying mehndi right after passing her S.S.C.
Veena's latest claim to fame is that she was 'the' one who was flown down to Bangalore for the Mehndi ceremony of the millennium craze Hrithik Roshan. "I was extremely excited when I was asked to go for the wedding. The Khans were extremely nice and even extended me an open invitation to the Spa. It was a great feeling," says Veena.

The soon-to-be-married actor was in what you would call a lighthearted moment. If there were nerves, they were conspicuous by their absence.
Dressed impeccably in an all-black suit, Hrithik chatted, laughed and generally had a good time at fiancee Suzanne Khan's uncle, Feroz Khan's cocktail party. Suzanne was dressed in a glittering gold dress, looking every inch a bride-to-be.
Hrithik weds Suzanne

So Hrithik Roshan is finally going to be a married man -- effective today. The ultimate female fantasy has broken a thousand hearts...well, that was what I thought. The Hrithik mania, I thought, was so hot that I actually got myself registered as hot_hrithik in one of the chat rooms, (hoping to get my Suzanne!).
Worried about the wave of pain and suffering about to sweep the entire country, I decided to lend a sympathetic ear to some Mumbai collegians (of the fairer variety). After all they would be needing a shoulder to cry on!
But alas that was not to happen...I was utterly disillusioned! Most of the girls had a somewhat same dry reaction: "Ya so what?"
"So what?" I exclaimed. "The hottest property is now suddenly a prohibited area and you girls are hardly bothered about it?" Hoping for a sobby tale I called up Ashwini, a die hard Hrithik fan...

Heartthrob Hrithik, sweet Suzanne: Kaho Na... Pair Hai!

It was one of the defining flavours of a Punjabi wedding. The game of one-upmanship during the jaimala ceremony (when the bride and groom exchange garlands) added a charm all its own to the wedding affairs of the land of sarson da saag and makki di roti.
In that respect, what Hrithik Roshan did at his wedding on Wednesday was no different from what a Punjabi groom would have done.
But before we go into what Heartthrob Hrithik did at the jaimala ceremony, let's take a look at the scenic setting of the shaadi. Inside info has it that the wedding of the year was solemnised on the outskirts of an Olympic-size swimming pool at Sanjay Khan's Golden Palms Resort and Spa. Decked in flowers, the poolside mandap was ready to witness the couple exchange malas. Ready, until papa Roshan had another idea.

Hrithik's baraat had to travel a distance of a mere 200 metres to get to where bride Suzanne was waiting for him -- but in real time, the trip from the door of the Tipu Sultan suite, where the groom was installed, to the suite occupied by the Khans, took forever. Even on horseback.
The baraatis, though, didn't mind that it took just over two hours to cover 200 metres -- the Roshans, Rishi and Randhir Kapoor, Prem Chopra, Dimple Kapadia, Jeetendra, Bunty Soorma, Rajiv Babbar and a host of other showbiz celebs, making up Hrithik's baraat, danced non-stop.
The best dancer of the lot, meanwhile, stayed perched atop his horse, taking it all in.

BANGALORE: He wore an exquisite Jodhpuri bandh-gala designed by Rocky S, and she a dazzling Tarun Tahiliani creation. The registrar made them sign the papers and they were man and wife. Indian cinema's rising superstar Hrithik Roshan and New York-trained designer Suzanne Khan acknowledged the greetings of select guests at Sanjay Khan's Golden Palms Resort & Spa in Bangalore on Wednesday evening.
``We are so happy,'' Sanjay and Zarine Khan declared in unison. ``We have one more member in our family and we thank heaven for it,'' declared Rakesh and Pinky Roshan.
The last three days have been traumatic for the media, with the ornate wrought iron gates leading to the spa shut, and nobody answering queries.
Commitments Continue...

Hrithik is expected to continue with his shooting commitments even during the honeymoon in Australia.
From the time that he announced his marriage plans to the daughter of film actor Sanjay Khan, disappointed and disillusioned sighs have reverberated throughout the country and it doesn't seem like the truth will hit home for a while to
come. And when it does, the truth won't be a very easily accepted one for the latest Greek god to hit Indian screens. The teenage crowd, for whom Hrithik is the dream come true for their collective fantasies, his "married" status is bound to be a stumbling block in the future.
